hi
my 5yr old has been diagnosed with motor problems which mean he is struggling to write. school are starting to teach him to touch type and I would like to support this at home but would rather he wasn't on my laptop.
due to the nature of his problem he is extremely clumsy and a bit heavy handed... I would anticipate him also using it for a few internet childrens sites, cbeebies etc. We already have a mouse for him as he can't manage the touchpad.
Does anyone have any suggestions please as to whether a cheap laptop or netbook might be best?
thanks for any advice

Sounds like one of those IBM machines oft mentioned by Hammyman may be of use to this thread. They are a bit more hardy than the new breed of laptops.
What's your budget? He may have something in mind.0 -

Maybe look for a refurb'ed panasonic toughbook, although they have a touchscreen they can be used (and look like) a normal laptop, they are designed to be drop resistant and also I believe moisture resistant too. So if he is a little heavy handed it may be good because it wont get easily damaged.Courage is the art of being the only one who knows you're scared to death.
