I haven't customised a veil but I did attach hotfix swarovski crystals to DD prom dress.

I bought a hot fix gun (£15) and 3 packs of crystals (£15 and had about 220 crystals).

I would have thought though the hot fix gun could ruin the net so I would try to borrow one and test it first.

As Poppy said I wouldn't try using a glue gun, I just used a clear gel one, the one in the yellow tube but can't remember the name of it, the heat from a glue gun would melt the fabric

  • Thanks everyone for your suggestions. I've contacted a few people from sits like eBay for wedding items about their veils, they are still more than I want to pay but some say they will accept offers so we will see :) if not I'll keep my eye out for a plain one I can make myself :)
I'm going to my local wedding dress shop in a few weeks to see about getting the back of my dress changed to lace up so I'm going to see what they sell and try on some different veils, I also want to try my dress on with an underskirt to see if it looks better puffed out a bit :)
