Buyer can't pay through Paypal

A buyer contacted me a while ago when my auction ended to say he has tried to pay via Paypal but he was unsuccessful. He asked to send me an e-check (which I know nothing about). I asked him to contact Paypal as it's an issue with his Paypal account and not mine (I get payments every day through Paypal). A few days have passed and I have heard nothing from him after sending a couple of invoices. I have had to open a dispute and now he contacts me saying he still can't pay and is trying to pay again and again.

What should be my next step ?

Ask him to pay by bank transfer or cheque-postal order if you accept them.

if he cant pay through Paypal they how can he send you an e-cheque as an e-cheque is a paypal delayed payment.
  • I have the same issue.

I prefer not to link my debit card to my paypal account so when I buy anything just send an echeque.

It takes a week for some reason.

But I can't make a conventional paypal payment as that requires a linked card.

texranger is quite right, OP's buyer is stating they cannot make a paypal payment at all though- otherwise they would have surely just paid and if it was an echeque then so be it and they wait the two weeks or whatever for clearance.

If they can't make a paypal payment they can't pay by echeque either
