A lot of people did cancel in time (including me) and were still charged. I was charged for 2 months afterwards, didn't get any films during this period so was paying for - what?? emails went unanswered and getting them to stop the charge was a major hassle. Eventually I bought a brand new copy of a disc they insisted I had not returned (it went missing in the post) and sent it to them just to try and get rid of them."The happiest of people don't necessarily have the
best of everything; they just make the best
of everything that comes along their way."

I spotted another offer by LoveFilm in connection with Celebrity Big Brother 2007. Shilpa Shetty and A-Team DVDs are up for grabs (you can only order one) and you have to register for a free trial providing credit card numbers, although this can supposedly be cancelled once you receive your "free" DVD. This offer was touted on front page of Daily Star on Saturday, is this for real and has anybody tried it?

Is this worth going for and does it work to get you a free DVD once you cancel in time?0 -

And a LOT did and were charged nevertheless.
But then as you've read all the threads, you know that anyway.0 -

I did the Lovefilm free trial (well twice to be honest but I won't say how!). I got the £!5 voucher and wasn't charged at all. I received a faulty disc once but as far as I'm concerned it was the fault of the person who had it before me and didn't report it faulty.
This is a FANTASTIC deal. Make sure you return your discs well in time though, then make sure there are no titles in your selection and when you can see your discs are returned, just cancel (about a week before the trial is up!).Watch the pennies and the pennies watch the POUNDS! :j

The idea behind this partnership deal with the Daily Star is that you can keep the DVD on offer, no returns. So that's why I was wondering if this is actually a good offer. I suppose so, especially since this offer promises a DVD for keeps?0
