  • Which company did you get your credit report from?

The one I use is Experian, I have current bank accounts, mobile phone and a couple of credit cards on the report which tables for the last 3/6 years. Each month I either make a payment or have a positive balance on my bank account I get a green box, defaults are red boxes and grey ones are queries, or something like that.

You should try and get a pre-payment card and pay the extra so it records the payments on the credit reports or a Vanquis card (40%er) , that way you should be able to actually get a credit card in the first place. Buy ONE thing and rip the card up and set up a direct debit and pay the minimum back each month.

You should be able to get a mortgage after a year but you will need at least 20% cash deposit and dont expect to walk into any high street bank as the computer will say "no".

If you have been declined already, I wouldnt apply for any other credit and make sure all the information is correct on your report. Sorting that out should take the best part of 6 months !

I have Experian and I don't have anything like that on my report.

I got the printed report, not the online thing.

    Is that what you have?
  • The experian report gives you tabs that have the different information....I'll see if I can do a screen dump and blank off my info...that should you give a better idea.

  • My bad, it was Equifax who I have used in the past.

Extract from my credit file which is pretty meaningless but you get the idea what to expect! With credit cards it also gives the information from the last 5 years, credit limit, amount you owe and the amount you pay.

Don't forget that whilst you have completed your IVA (well done :j), the insolvency marker remains on your credit file for 6 years from the date that the IVA started.

So this is your online report? I got one in the post and it has none of those things.
  • Yeah online, you can print off the full report too.

So you have to signup for a monthly fee then?
  • £2 a pop online. Try not to sign up for their regular service, they will charge £14 per month for it, and, if you are like me, you will forget to cancel after any free trial !!!!
