  • Hello, I hope you have a good trip down.
Trago Mills is a great place for shopping bargains and is a unique shopping experience.

There is a leisure park and train. We were there yesterday and due to it being autumn not all of the rides are open. The Santa train starts next Sunday and my little one really enjoyed it last year.

The leisure park is not refined like a Thorpe Park or chessington think but it does have a number of activities. There is also a free animal park.
You can buy 4 wristbands for the price of 3 at 14 each or so, but I think once you get here and with the ages of your children you may well opt to purchase the 2 tokens at a £1 each time.
The indoor railway is very good value you may feel you areheading back in time :)

My daughter is 4 she likes the train, a token for the mechanical sand digger, the boats if they are working, the merry go round, animal park and thats about it plus the shopping.

They have jusy opened a really impressive new garden restaurant centre which was really good value.

So in summary its a great day out and the rides are an added bonus as a way of attracting people to the main event of the bargain prices available.
    Hope that helps
    Thomas
  • Trago Mills is a very handy place to stop for a break for an hour, but I would not go so far as to go too many miles to get to it specifically.

The "leisure park" has a miniature railway, a couple of small kids rides, a few birds and loads of ducks on ponds. Alton Towers/Chessington it ain't! Enough to revitalise the kids after several hours on the M5.

The shop is, to put it politely, an experience - if you think of Poundland distributed over a few acres of buildings behind walls with false turrets and gargolyes mocking councillors who tried to impose some taste, then you will not be far wrong. Goodness knows where they find the stuff to put on the shelves, and even more amazing is people come from far and wide to buy it!

Then every 3 yards (the owner dislikes anything EU so metric measurements are frowned on) there are huge notices up telling you what the EU are going to do to you and your family. The owner also has some very "controversial" views on a number of matters which range from amusing to disturbing.

There are bargains if you can find them. There are also a good choice of places to eat there - some great value others less so.

Well politics aside we enjoyed it. We popped into Trago Mills as a lunchtime stop and ended up staying until closing time. DD1&2 loved the rides and I felt the wristband for £x was reasonable, although some parts of the leisure site are a little tired, but kids look past that. There are some unique rides such as the boats and plenty of pay rides that don't fall within the wristband remit.

The shopping is OK. A little grim in places and good in others. I picked up 5 bottles of Autoglym Extra Gloss Protection for £4.99 each which retail in Halfords for £11.99.

  • Last time we went there was years ago and it was closed as had burned down! Thought it was an insurance scam or something!!!!

Well worth a visit for shopping and entertainment for the kids.
I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.

One think I like about Trago Mills was the train ride. Most train rides are seem to be over in an instant, but this was a nice long ride.

Seconded. The afternoon teas are huge and remarkably inexpensive.
