Barratt Parking Permit Scheme

Hi,
I would like an advice on the parking permit scheme.
I recently purchase a 2 bed flat with Barratts in the Wednesbury area. There is only one allocated parking space provided and most property owners have two cars, and only 4 visitors parking space. So if you can imagine, the visitors parking are always occupied and other people will just park anywhere in the estate.
Barratts have a property management company called Pinnacle Property Management who have sent me a letter advising that due to the parking problem that they will introduce a residents parking permit scheme in the estate around New Year's time. They even said in their letter that when property owners purchased their property they are well aware that there was parking for only one vehicle per apartment and as such if the arrangements had not suited then perhaps they should not have purchased at the development. Which is not good to say to be honest.
They said that the land and parking space is owned by Barratts West Midlands (the freeholder) and they can introduce any such rules which they see fit as they are entitled to do under the lease.
I would like to ask since there is only one allocated resident parking space, they said that those who have two cars will need to park the other car elsewhere. What is the legality of this? Aren't we suppose to have at least 1 resident pass and one visitor pass?
Anybody have experience of Pinnacle Property Management and how they control the resident's parking scheme? Are there any legalities that we can challenge?
Any views is much appreciated?

Call a meeting of residents and object before they introduce it. Alexis on here has experience of seeing off such a scheme.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Thank you for your response. I would like to hear from Alexis about his/her experience about this and they way forward.0

How many flats share the 4 visitors bays? Would giving everyone 1 resident and 1 visitor permit be the answer? As Coupon Mad says get the residents together and make sure the management company know you are against any PPC coming in!0

But you shouldn't be parking your own cars in the visitors spaces.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

How big are your cars?? Could you try something like this?? :

Great idea for storing cars during the winter but I'm not sure its practical for day to day use. I'm sure the OP will find a way around it with the help of Alexis.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

The local Planning Dept will have prevented them from providing enough parking spaces.
Try building a new office these days - ONE parking space allowed per FOUR staff.British Ex-pat in British Columbia!0 -
Your lucky you actually got given parking spaces, a housing development near here didn't provide for any parking, and got the council to paint DYL down the street, as it's a "green" measure.0
