just wondered if i lost this in the post does it mean the moneys lost or just a case of waiting 6 months to get another one

If the intended recipient writes a letter to confirm that they have not received the cheque, it can be stopped and a fresh one drawn. Even after six months you are likely to have to follow this procedure as a buiding society cheque can only be stopped with the confirmation of the payee.0
