1000 tues on my itunes on old pc .
Just got new laptop so want my i-tunes on it .
Have downloaded i-tunes .
did find / do " store + authorise this computer" but i'm guessing that's to do with buying new from i-tunes .
How do i find and transfer my 1000 tunes ?
thanks

easiest way would be to use a USB flash drive (or an external hard drive) copy the folder where the mus'c is saved on the old computer to the USB drive then copy it to the new computer, then in itunes use File>add folder to library to add the songs to itunes. (you can also use the Hard disc feature of iPods (not the ipod touch though)
you are right that autorise computer is just for anything bought from the itunes store (music/apps/TV shows), also remember to deautorise itunes from the old computer (assuming it is authorised)0 -
retrieving old computer may be a challenge !!
is it not possible to plug ipod into laptop and for the music to magically just copy itself onto the laptop itunes file ?? !!
(which of course sounds to me , an absolute non techie ,the easiest most logical requirement that someone might have changing pc's ?!)0 -
iTunes won't let you do that, it will say 'the ipod is synced with another computer' and want you to delete your music.
good news is there are programs on the internet that will copy the music from the ipod to your computer, you will have to google though as I don't know them.
another option, if you bought the music from itunes then you can redownload it using the 'Purchased' section of the itunes store, (other online music sellers allow you to do the same)0
