BT Anytime and being charged !

I have had BT Anytime for a long time now and I do my account online. Some weeks ago I went on my account, (hadn't checked it for long time) and found on recent usage they had suddenly started charging for my calls !!!. There were odd short collection of calls that were £00.00 as it should be.
I have spoken to call centres four times. I'm told it'll be corrected in 24hrs, I'm told I wont be charged etc etc. Half the time they can barely speak English. The charges kept adding up, nothing changed. So I emailed complaints. I was contacted by a pleasent chap from Digital Care. He told me it was a technical glich he'd e-mailed billing to remove it. Would take up to 24hrs. 72hrs later the charges are still there. I spoke to chap again, he tells me now it'll be corrected before my next bill (15/12/11) meanwhile charges will keep accrueing. He did kindly send me an e-mail stating that.
Here we are a week later charges still there.
I don't know what else to do. I can see a computer generated bill being issued at next bill time, so I'm scared to use phone. HELP.

Hi. Is there anyone out there that could advise me what to to next.
I'm really worried about this problem with BT, so much so I am not making outgoing calls in case they try to charge me.
Any advise would be welcome. Thanks

If you have an email confirming that's it's a technical error, then I don't really see what you've got to worry about.
By BT's lamentable standards, they've addressed the issue remarkably quickly it seems. No free lunch, and no free laptop

If your bill includes incorrect charges and BT therefore make a DD call for an amount with which you do not agree, contact your bank and tell them to immediately reverse the DD call under the DD guarantee.
OTOH, you may feel better reporting the matter to the BT Company Representative who frequents this forum:

Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -
brovahelpa - have you actually been charged for the Anytime plan on the bill???
My daughter had a similar problem again recently (for the second time in 3 years!!). She had one of these auto renewing contracts for the Evenings and Weekends plan- problem was that they didn't renew it,didn't charge her for it, just put her back onto the basic weekend calls/rental package - so she started to get charged for ALL her phone calls during the week. Fortunately we were "lucky" in that we got thru to someone with some sense @ BT who appears to have put everything back as it should be.0 -

Thanks for reply. Yes it was the first thing I did, the anytime is still there. I've got a £2 discount on it coz I discovered they'd been overcharging me for goodness knows how long.
I know I've got an e-mail but I'm still not using landline until my account shows nil. I don't feel I can trust BT to not try and obtain money they're not entitled to.
How long should it take to just correct the online account.0 -
Hi Brovahelpa,
If you send me in your details using the link found in my profile. I'll make sure you are not charge for any of those calls as per your Anytime Calling plan.
Thanks

BT representative.
Thanks for offer and I may well take up your offer in near future. At the moment I have an e-mail from someone in Digital Care saying I wont have to pay. However I still worry about the charges still adding up. Perhaps you could explain to me why, having been told several times that these charges are showing, BT doesn't correct my online account. Surely its quite simple. If they can't just wipe the total, why aren't future calls being zero'd as they always have been.

Hi
My offer of help is always there so if you do need help in the future you know were to come, to be honest for me to be able to answer your questions I would need to look at your account to see what has happened as without the full history of what has happened and the actual account to look at I couldnt give an honest answer as to what has happened.
