Pre pay to weekly payments
Hello.
I have asked British Gas if they would change my pre-pay meter, to a normal meter, and I will pay weekly set amount at the post office.
I had a new meter fitted a couple of months ago, as the last one kept failing.
The new one has had a fault 3 times now. It says "Call Help"
I can't be doing with that over winter, as my grandson lives with me now.
They said they will do a credit check, then tell me how much the deposit is and how much it will cost.
I don't owe them any money now, after paying off the debt with the meter and my circumstances are better now, so I can pay weekly.
I don't want to go back to normal bills though.
I hated the bill dropping on the mat and then wondering how to pay it
Does anyone know how much I will have to pay, to get rid of this pre-pay meter?
Thanks for any replies!

British Gas don't uduslly charge to change the meter but if you don't have a good credit rating they will charge a rather large deposit in the order of £200 or £300 which they will pay back to you in a year or so.0
