Looking for a bill monthly electric scheme ie pay every month just what you have used and not averaged out over the year. There must be a company that does it? What I want is to enter my electric reading monthly and pay for what I've used that month only, not an average direct debit for the year.
Any idea's peeps? Just want a bit more control without going to pre payment meter.
Thanks in advance

Quarterly direct debit sounds like it would suit you. The whole bill is paid in full every 3 months by direct debit. You can read the meter yourself every month and using a website such as UKPower you can estimate what the bill would be by entering the meter readings and dates you took them and then make a manual payment to the account then when the bill comes in it will only be for the last month.:footie:
Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

Looking on the BG website they offer monthly bills for 3 tariffs, see here http://www.britishgas.co.uk/products-and-services/energy/our-tariffs.html?WT.seg_3=i100272IT Consultant in the utilities industry specialising in the retail electricity market.

Ebico offer various payment methods including one called a paygo swipe card - you can pay whatever you want whenever you want (though the bills will be issued quarterly not monthly as you are looking for). Assuming that you know your rates & can read the meter however it shouldn't be too hard for you to work out what the months bill would equate to.
You can alternatively choose to pay a fixed monthly sum by standing order.

Thanks Undaunted - will have a look. Not very MSE I know but would rather pay a little more and be in control, with out having the hassle of a prepayment meter.
cheers
