Hi,
My loft needs insulation, money is tight and I was wondering if I can insulate myself or is it complicated to do? I want to store a few things up in the loft but wanted to have it insulated first and boarded.
Has anyone done this themselves, is it easy to do? Please advise

Insulating a loft is easy as long as you are reasonably flexible.
Wear a dust mask and paper overalls, goggle are optional(glass fibre itches like hell).
When boarding out your loft, be sure to leave air gaps around the perimeter of the loft to allow airflow, if you do not the loft will sweat and everything will become damp and fusty.
Good luck!0 -

Hi All,
On the subject of loft insulation......my loft has enough insulation in. But I was thinking, with all the cardboard boxes I have lying around after Christmas, could i break them up and lay them out in my loft to create extra loft insulation?
So really my question is...... Cardboard..... loft insulation or fire hazard? It's not how much you earn..... It's what you do with it.....0 -
Also worth checking if can get any grants/subsidised costs towards your insulation
