Energy Company Payment

Hi,

I'm just in the process of trying to reduce my parents outgoings and I've just remembered something Martin mentioned on Daybreak about a payment or account credit retired / disabled people can get from the electricity / gas supplier. Unfortunately I had to leave for work half way through the discussion, so I missed the full details, including how it would be claimed. Could someone please point me in the direction of the information, as I have been unable to find it.

I got letter about a week ago to fill in and post back to my electric company scottish power. I have heard that oaps will automatically get payment. I got my letter on disability grounds. It depends on electric company you are with. There is a bit about it on martins page on electric where it states payments given by each electric company. Spoke to electricity board on Thursday and they said it would be paid around Jan if I qualify which said I would. They only have so much money given by government so it a first come first serve with southern electric. Hope that helps.

contact co they get bills from they should give advice on how to apply if they have not had paperwork already to complete and send back.

Thanks for the replies.

My parents are with E.On (left BG at the beginning of the month due to numerous account muck ups and they couldn't organise an alcohol fuelled party at a brewery) , so I was able to apply online for them. As my mum is disabled and my dad is retired they should be eligible.
