Item not received but seller seems reasonable

Hi folks,
I bought a curtain rail off ebay from a seller with 39000 or so feedback and all good. It was posted on the 15th of october first class apparently and never arrived. Contacted the seller after 2 weeks, asked the postman and visited the sorting office twice. Item has vanished it seems. Seller said she was sorry and would send another. A week later still nothing. Contacted her again and she said 'oh had it still not arrived!' and now she was going to send me a form so she could claim from the royal mail and then send another curtain rail (I'm presuming she never sent the replacement). Filled in her form and sent it on Monday. Still no curtain rail.
I'm getting pretty fed up. Contacted her again but no reply. What do I do next?
I have 100% feedback too. I just want my curtain rail.
Sigh

I wouldn't consider leaving feedback yet.
Raise the dispute and see what the seller does then.
IMO If they refund immediately and apologise for not doing so earlier then a neutral might be suitable, but if they decide not to refund and the dispute drags on and you don't get refunded until paypal enforce it then without a doubt a neg is needed.0 -

eBay feedback is SO different to Amazon. It seems basic things mean negative or neutral feedback which is odd. On Amazon if an order is lost in the post and a full refund is given by the seller then a positive is the only option. Royal Mail not delivering an item is down to them not the seller and Amazon customers are well aware of this so to leave negative remarks on delivery is feedback on the postal service and not the seller.
eBay doesnt appear to work like this or is everyone on this forum just trigger happy with neg feedback??0 -
And confirm your full postal address with the seller, just in case two parcels have gone elsewhere.0

I wouldn't call waiting 4 weeks from when the item was posted being "trigger happy".
The seller should have refunded at least 1 week ago, but it appears that they are not going to do so until they get their compo from Royal mail.0 -
Hi folks,
Case raised with PayPal. Seller rather surprised and even didn't seem to remember which item it was  . I realise the item going missing was not their fault so was not going to leave a neg/neutral before but I think the way they handled it is poor. Rubbish thing for them though is I was planning to buy 3 of them; not now.
Cheers,

I'm not sure you are actually reading the threads this weekend johnnyboy.
Also you are wrong about Amazon- it is quite possible to get a neg or a neutral for a lost item. In fact I have a great deal more problems with Amazon feedback than I ever have with ebay. I only posted yesterday that I got a 3* on Amazon with the comment 'exactly as described'. I think you need to be careful about making statements that people might believe and then find out the hard way on Amazon.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
