I got great prices by speaking to a quantas agent directly. We were flying from scotland and had to go to london in any case. We got £100 off each if we were prepared to go through Frankfurn from London before going through Singapore. Did not need to do this on the way back. Something to do with filling up seats on the frankfurt to sydney flight.
You will need to speak to an agent at quantas as you cant do this online yourself.
Good luck if you try this.
ps the total journey time was just one hour more. Not bad for 4 x 100 quid.
  • A lot of it has to do with time of year. Travelmood have just arranged 4 RTW tickets for me - not cheap but... we are going in August (school holidays). There is a sale at the moment but again - time limited.

    They were extremely helpful

Seems a long time to be away from the children, 10 weeks out of 13. That is a lot of bed time stories.

  • We took our 6 year old to Sydney last year and not a peep out of her .....she is a good traveller though. Plenty of films and games on the plane (virgin) and children receive a pack of goodies. Just make sure the kids drink plenty as it is very dehydrating. As for bedtime stories and missing them....it only costs 3p a minute to phone Sydney from the UK from one of the cheap companies now...... Sounds great fun...good luck! ;)

Have a look at the mid east airlines (like Emirates, Qatar, etc), they have very very good fares out to oz.

Hmmmm, what about dads in the Armed Forces, sometimes these seperations can't be helped.
