Need to buy a scanner any suggestions?

Hello
I was wondering if anyone knows of a good cheap scanner I can buy new?
Any suggestions very much appreciated. How much should I spend?
Thanks

As above, more info would help. The Canon Lide models are slim and good in my experience, but you may find an all-in-one printer more cost and space effective than a standalone.

Do you want to scan film and negatives for photographic purposes, or flat paper documents?
