Barclaycard 22 Months Balance Transfer Offer

Hi

I am new to this forum, so hope this is in the correct place :-s

Last week I applied for a barclaycard, using their 0% balance transfer offer for 22 months. MSE website said if you applied using the link on their site, and transferred less than £3000, you qualify for an Argos Voucher worth £20 (great news, as just in time for xmas shopping).

When I applied, I setup the transfer straight away and it confirmed on-screen that the transfer was in process. The card has now arrived and when I login online, it says no transfer has been set on the account. Obviously I can set this up myself through mybarclaycard, but how will they know that I have come from the MSE site to qualify for the Argos voucher?

When looking on here, the offer has now changed. Has anyone else experienced this issue with their offer? Have I lost all chances of getting the voucher?

Thanks
Michael

  • Can anyone give me advice on this issue? I have contacted Barclaycard and they seem to know nothing about the offer that was advertised on this site! I am very disappointed...

  • From Salau2's link it seems you only get the voucher once you've spent £100 (but I could be reading it wrong....):o

New Barclaycard* Platinum customers (min income £20k) get 14 mths 0% on debt shifted from other cards (for a 2.9% fee) AND new spending. Plus, spend £100+ within 60 days to get a £20 Argos voucher. As it's 0% for both, it minimises card applications, protecting credit scores. Not sure if this answers your question though....:(

  • Thanks to you both for sending over the link. This is even more confusing, as this gives 14 months free when the deal I applied for gives you 22 months free. There seems to be so many different deals flying around...BUT...the good news is I have now spoke to Barclaycard's complaint department who have confirmed that the original offer I am querying does exist. There is no need to spend the £100 to get the £20 voucher (this was an older offer than the one I have seen), instead you have to setup a balance transfer within 60 days of under £3000 to qualify for the voucher (of which I have done). What they forgot to state was even if you setup the BT straight away, you still need to wait the full 60 days before they post the voucher out to you, hence why I have been confused on whether I qualify or not, as I have had no sign of the voucher as yet. So, I may not have it in time for xmas but I am sure it will help out nicely in the new year sales ;-)
