Can anyone help me as my disk drive is not working. The cd's will spin in there but the computer does not seem to register that there's a disk there at all. Trying desperately to play a cd rom or but some new tunes on itunes but it's just not happening!!

try giving it a clean; if u can try physically removing the drive and then reinserting in situ. tbh, depending on age and wear and tear cdrom drives do tend to have a sell by date. if it's a desktop then it's only a couple of quid for another and easy to fit.BLOODBATH IN THE EVENING THEN? OR PERHAPS THE AFTERNOON? OR THE MORNING? OH, FORGET THIS MALARKEY!

If it does not start automatically have you tried going to My Computer and starting the drive from there?0

I'd check the IDE or SATA cable to make sure isn't loose. If not, try swapping it out for another.0

If you click start, computer, is the drive shown there?
If you then insert a CD does it change to show the title? If not, does double clicking the drive start the CD
