Anyone else having problems getting FITs registration processed via EDF? When I signed up I was promised a 6 week timescale for this-that would have been a date in late September. I chased this a month ago and received no reply, chased again late week and received the reply below.
The fact that they can''t even offer any revised timescale indicates to me that this is going to drag on for months.
It appears that EDF's 'Green Team' is as unresponsive and backlogged as the rest of the operation.

Dear macman

Thank you for your email.

We have received confirmation of your switch to EDF Energy from OFGEM and the application is ready to become accredited.

We currently have a backlog due to the high volume of Feed in Tariff applications being received. Due to this we are unable to provide a timeframe for completion of your Feed in Tariff registration.

We can confirm that your application is eligible for payments from the reading of XXXX for the date of 12/08/2011 and that your first payment will be backdated in line with a valid start meter reading. Payments will be based upon the generation tariff rate of 43.3p per kWh generated.

Once the registration process is complete we will contact you at the start of the next meter reading period to request a generation meter reading.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused by this delay.

Kind regards

Green Energy Team

I sent my docs to EDF at the beginning of April and they were finally approved in Mid July (3.5 months), I'm sure they quoted me 4-6 weeks originally. I would assume there is a much bigger backlog now in the mad rush to get panels installed.

Don't count on your FITs payments being quick from EDF either. 40 or so days for my first payment and still waiting for my second, 70+ days and counting.
  • My panels were installed on August 26th. My installer was slow in providing the paperwork but did make an ex-gratia payment to me to cover my generation from Aug 26 to October 9th when I registered with EDF.

Since then it's been a pain trying to get money out of EDF. Constant delays, and excuses. Pointless communications from them but still no payment.

I'm awaiting a manager 'phoning me tomorrow. Subject to what is disclosed/agreed I will post back on here with an update. I'll pursue this with extreme vigour as I hate waiting for money due to me.
