Not sure if he/she could do it in stages either because FD are fussy about more than one transfer to the same card.

Might be better just to get an Egg card?
  • hi

we reckon we could put the 22 k in a high interest account and earn about £450 interest (thats with the tax already taken off) in 6 months

not a huge amount of money but would help finance xmas

as Ive never stoozed before , I am a little nervous about shifting such a large sum of money from FD card (22k) onto my virgin card then back out again in the space of a few days , especially with money laundering a high priority now amongst most financial institutions

if virgin or anyone else ask where has this 22k come from do I tell the truth and say its from a credit card or give another answer?

Im sure we can do this but not got any experience of stoozing and I know many of you have. The silly thing is also FD are offerring my wife a 22K limit also , can you imagine trying to stooze 44k

we reckon we could meet the minimum payments OK from our own funds and by the time the 0% offers end on FD we would owe them back 2.5k less money

theoretically speaking its another way off saving an extra 2.5k each

My wife used to own an egg credit card with a 7k limit but closed it early last year . Wish she hadnt now . I suppose I could try appying myself but would rather apply for the 18 month 0% offer with Capital 1 and dont want lots of searches and credit checks on my file

    what a dilemma

Yes Egg allow free balance transfers at any time with no charges (except for interest on balances outside the 0% period of course).

Remember FD only allow you one free balance transfer but you will get another one if you swop to a different FD card.
    Cheers for that. And don't worry, i'm pretty well-versed with fd's T&Cs, i need to be ;)

roaming_rhino - I wouldn't worry about money laundering. There's a perfectly clear trail of where the funds have come from, and if they ask any questions (which i would say there is less than a 1% chance of), be honest.
