Lost Icons I My Computer

I`ve suddenly lost the icon for the dvd drive drive in "my computer".
When I enter a disk, nothing happens.
The C drive is the only one showing, running Vista, any ideas please?

If the above steps don’t work and drive still doesn’t show up
Try using device manager to uninstall the drive first, then if it does not show after you reboot, try the first part for Vista after backing up the registry

I have used Microsoft's 'Fix it' for this problem in the past and it works quite well.
