I have an Egg now Barclay card. I am now looking for a credit card that had the same features my originalcard had. I am looking for a creditcard that is also a debit card so I can put some cash in as a debit card and have the online buyer protection a credit card has as I mainly use my credit card for online purchases only.

Well cant you just use the card online as before and pay the balance off each month?

Before you could have a positive balance as credit. If you paid for an item and had insufficient funds it would become a credit card, so like a debit card with an arranged overdraft, I cannot get an aranged overdraught on my debit card. It also gave you interest on a positive balance so was the best of both worlds.

Egg did away with that some time ago.

I'm not aware of anything on the market that gives you what you're after.

It's very likely you had a false sense of security here, when operating as you did.

If you used your own money it's doubtful you were covered for section 75, which is what I think you mean by "security", because unless you created a debt (by buying something costing more than the pre-load amount) then Egg didn't extend you credit.

Agreed. Your not even covered with Section 75 if your account is in credit.
