Cash ISA, when can I transfer?

I have a small amount of savings on a cash ISA from HSBC.
I getting next to nothing interest. I want to move it elsewhere but I don't really understand when I can transfer my cash.
I haven't paid any money into it on this financial year, can I transfer this year or not?

Assuming you're not in a fixed rate / bonus period ....... you can transfer when you wish. And that applies whether you've added money this financial year or not.
Just decide where you want to go to and complete an application / transfer form - let them do the rest.If you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !0 -
Yes, you must let the bank who you want to transfer to do all the work for you.
Dont under any circustances do it yourself.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -

You can transfer anytime you wish - depending on any specific T&C's with regard miniumum preiods of deposit you may have a penalty (60 days loss of interest for example) if you transfer/withdraw early however at a guess that isn't going to be an issue in your case.
Just make sure you complete the neccessary transfer forms with your new ISA provider and let them make contact with HSBC. Don't withdraw the money yourself.
