Well about 2 months ago 8 cans of lager started exploding in the car..so i rung Dundee and said ive tried my hardest to clean the mess up but the smell is disgusting. i told a white lie an said rac said they only thing to get rid of the smell was to have it valet.. a full one.
Told the guy this and said it would cost £30.. and he offered £25 give card.. i did ask for the full £30 but he said it would have to go through someone else so i accepted.. letter a few days later and a gift card for £25.
i wouldnt bother writing just ring Tescos helpline in dundee..
good luck!0 -
a few years ago, i had a can of cat foot blow on me when i opened it - the smell was disgusting and it went over the carpets / blinds in my kitchen, i rang tesco and they said bring it back in and they will r + r. when i took it in, the smell of the cat meat was enough for them to give me 2 cases cat food, as much cleaning products that i would like and even offered professional cleaners round to clean- about 6 weeks later i got a voucher from whiskers for a further 2 cases cat food - so it was definatly worth it.Give blood - its free0

Having worked for a supplier to Tesco's, I know that they will automatically do whatever is needed to fix your problem - replacement, cheque, valeting, gift voucher etc...There was the one instance whereby the product we had supplied had exploded and ruined this lady's carpet. The bill came straight back to us...No wonder Tesco are happy to play footloose and fancy free with the money - they don't necessarily pick up the bill!0

this happened to hubby, with bleach, the cap was not on properly and as he was walking the shopping home the bleach leaked all down his trousers, complained to CS and they said go and buy a new pair to the same value and keep the reciept, so he did and took the reciept to CS and they refunded the money but kept the trousers. Would not refund the money for the bleach tho but I was quite suprised they gave him the full money for a new pair and not say half for wear and tear etc0

I would definitely complain about both and make a big stink about it too. The bleach leaking is a regular occurence I find and so when I am buying any chemicals I put the item in 2 carrier bags of its very owna nd never put it in with anything else.
The Veg thing has to be against trading standards surely. Advertising at a reduced price but selling it at a higher price?
Good luck and let us know the outcome please.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I would complain to Tesco and also to the bleach manufacturer - I mean, these things are supposed to be child-proof, and the manufacturer should be aware just in case there's a problem with other bottles as well.
If it was just milk or something I probably wouldn't make a fuss, but bleach is not a joke.0 -
Full refund for my top received from a very apologetic CS manager.
Thanks for all your posts0 -
i Brought some veg on their half price promo. But i was charged over the amount stated. I double checked b4 going to CS. Turned out the box of veg was placed in the wrong place resulting in wrong price. So i got my money back.A smile and manners doesnt cost any thing0

I can;t find it right now but I posted on the vent board about Tesco value bleach leaking in my car boot. I had only bought the car (Ford Galaxy) a couple of months previously so was not a happy bunny. They replaced my damaged shopping and paid for a new carpet in the car (nearly £500) and gave me a cheque for £50 as compensation for the hood on my pushchair being ruined. It took some phone calls between us, garage and Tesco CS but all in all excellent service from Tesco's!0
