Help, place to stay near newcastle??

i need a room (b&b or a hostel) what ever ascheap as poss - just to sleep and shower somewhere around newcastle (gateshead) not fussed, just cheap,thanks

there is a new holiday inn express in newcastel or try the travellodge - they are all centrally located

The cheapest is the Youth Hostel in Jesmond. It's about 20-30 mins walk from the city centre or you can hop on a Metro/bus.

Never stayed there so can't recommend it personally - just pass it every day - it's just off the A1 and and close to the airport either by car or metro.
