Hi,
I've purchased an item from the internet and paid for express delivery. The delivery option said that the item would be delivered within two working days. That period of time has passed and I'm still waiting for the item.
I've contacted the online store and they have told me to speak to the courier company and not them. I'm not satisfied with this as I've waited in for this package for two full days. I'm led to believe that if the item isn't delivered within the specified time period that they have broken the terms of the sale. Is this true? If so, what exactly do I hit them with? What are my rights as they are not interested in speaking to me now that they have my money.
Thank you for any help.

Depends on their terms and conditions. You will find most companies offering no guarantee on transit times and disclaim themselve from any liaility as a result of delays. In which case you don't really have a case.
You don't have to deal with the courier, it can though get you your parcel quicker if you cut out the middle man (them) and do such. Your contract is with them, theirs is with the courier. Some couriers (although not the case with most mainstream ones) won't even talk to the receipient.
You can though cancel the order at any time (and for 7 working days after receiving the order) under Distance Selling Regulations. They must then refund within 30 days.0 -
tour contract is with the seller, not whoever they choose to deliver..
if you paid extra for quick del, they have (imo) have broken contract.
contact card co, nay be able to clawback as goods not delivered..Long time away from MSE, been dealing real life stuff..
