ESA main phase rates

A couple of weeks ago I sent away the ESA50 form and today I called the DWP to enquire about it's status after receiving a confusing letter from them. The call handler told me that I have been placed in the WRAG (I didn't have to go for a medical!) and would receive a new weekly rate of £169 (and something pence).

I'm confused about this because as far as I can work out the maximum I should get per week is £149.55 consisting of £94.25 ESA and £55.30 severe disability premium - where is the extra £20 coming from? Not that I am complaining of course, I am just curious :D

If you are receiving DLA Higher rate care then there will be an enhanced disability premium for ESA-IR. Could this be it? Additionally, is there any housing costs i.e. Support for Mortgage Interest?

You get xx amount for being in wrag/support group
another xx amount for severe disability premium - because you have no one claiming carers allowance.

The severe disability is not just about no one claiming carer's allowance. To get the Severe Disability Premium on means tested benefits you must be receiving Middle or Higher Rate Care DLA or either rate AA AND you are classed as living alone (no other adults in home) AND no one is PAID carer's allowance for looking after you.
