No point entering for something you don't want! It's all down to chance, honestly... people seem to have more luck with Facebook competitions though, and competitions that involve a little effort (like writing something).

To be honest I never see the point of entering unless it is for something I or someone I know would like.
I have had a recent dry spell of a few months but before that I was winning on average one prize a month which personally I think is good going as I don't enter nearly as many as some on this site.
What you have to remember is that some of the competitions you have entered may not of ended yet and it is possible that there are prizes on the way to you even now.
I think as long as you enjoy comping keep going and I'm sure with time prizes will come :)

A lot also depends on how many you enter. If you only enter the ones with big prizes, such as a washing machine, or a car or designer handbag, then you are less likely to win. If you enter some of those with little prizes (such as when a company is giving away 1000 mascara's as prizes), or ones to win a book on a specialist subject for example, then you are more likely to win. These little prizes make you keep you going sometimes.

I also agree about the effort ones. A lot of people don't bother to enter the ones where you have to upload a photo or think of a slogan for example.

    Good luck.
  • I tend to only enter the ones I want to win, or where I know I have a family member or friend that will appreciate the gift. I kind of hope I have some comping karma by leaving the ones I couldn't use to other people! I found that when I fist started I didn't win anything because all the ones I was entering were in the pipeline for a month or so in the future. You need to set up a bit of a pipline so that when you're feeling down and fed up, some nice wins turn up.
