bay marking question

Hi
I've just got a ticket for parking in a bay outside my flat in a city centre. The bay is marked by a sign which states loading only, 6pm- 10am, a single yellow line by the curb and loading only painted around the bay. I somewhat foolishly took this to mean the restrictions don't apply outside those hours and parked there for less than 10 mins while unloading. The traffic warden informed me that it meant the opposite. Knowing no-one is infallible, would really like a second opinion before I cough up!
TIA x

As long as it's a Council 'penalty charge notice' (not a private 'parking charge' fake one) of course you should appeal it.

The huge majority of people who post about Council tickets there, win their case or get the Council cancelling it.
And most people who to as far as adjudication win anyway, with or without pepipoo's help.
Start a new topic there after reading the FAQs, and follow their advice. You can unload on a single yellow. I expect the CEO issued the ticket as he thought you were parked, didn't see signs of loading/unloading activity.
All you 'should' have to do is prove the unloading with a receipt and/or letter from whoever you were unloading to, IMHO. But take pepipoo's advice as the Council are unlikely to fold at the first appeal stage.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Thanks coupon-mad, have started a thread over on pepipoo, will see what the experts say! (yes it was a council PCN and not an invoice lol!)
