Is there a limit to how much you can transfer from a bank account to a online savings account in a single transaction.

Depends on which bank, with Barclays I can transfer £30k a day.. 3x£10K by faster payments

The bank concerned is the Nat West,i cant seem to find the information on there site.

natwest limit is 10k per person/account per day, online at least - don't know if you can do more by phone. (joint holders can only pay out 10k between them per day, but there is a trick to get round that.)

I am not aware of any daily limit to the amount you can transfer from a bank account to an online savings account, other than any overall limits imposed by the receiving account or institution. It might be a £1 million or two. Within the same bank you can generally do this yourself online (eg Nationwide you can shift a couple of £million from FlexAccount to e-saver and vice versa). Otherwise just ask your bank to CHAPS the amount over.

However, as others may be alluding to, there is often a limit to taking money out to send to another institution as opposed to putting it in, and the most typical is a £10K daily limit.

I wanted to transfer more than £10K by faster payments from Barclays.
The first £10K went fine - the next attempt however, didn't.

The message that the payment would exceed the daily £10K limit popped up.

Oh well, I'll do it from my Tesco account via debit card.
