A friend has recommended this stock to me. Any experts care to take a look and give advice as to whether it is a good investment.

Not an expert but:
advfn.com tells me...
1) Its an extremely small company - £6M
2) 5 years ago its share price was 25p, now it's below 4p having reached 8p earlier in the year.
3) It hasnt made a profit in the past 5 years
4) It would not seem to be making any sales, though its website says that it owns a palm oil company in Malaysia.
5) The last item of news registered is from June 2010 when a refinery plant was due to be completed in September 2010. Strangely advfn gives no news since then.
6) Its traded on AIM, not the main Exchange which has more stringent regulation.
I cant give you any advice on whether it's a good investment as I know nothing more about the company. What do you think?
Of course your friend may have private inside information. If so, and you used it, you and he would be committing a crime.
I seem to remember very recently suggesting that 1-off purchases of shares recommended in the press or internet was IMHO not a sensible way of investing. Perhaps suggestions from friends should be added to that list.0
