I'm not a fan of powdered custard unless it's made for me but I do love the Co-ops value and Tesco value tinned custard. They are both creamy and tasty. Hth0

I use Birds custard powder,
2 heaped desert spoonfuls
1. heaped desertspoonfuls of sugar
mixed with about a 1/4 pint of milk added slowlly and mixed with a fork.
pour into a saucepan add a small tin of eveporated milk made up to 3/4 of a pint with water.
bring to the boil slowly stirring until it thickens up and pour into a pyrex jug.
simples and cheap as chips
never had tinned custard in my life so couldn't comment
I normally use birds, but am on a super budget this month. I opeted for the BGTY range one. Ready made, as the last 3 times i've made t he powdered stuff i can't get it to thicken up!Annual Grocery Budget £364.00/£1500

We quite like Tesco value custard, 6p a pack, last time I bought it. I make it up with milk instead of water and sometimes add a couple of drops of vanilla extract or essence.0
