Or go to the coupon thread. Track Aunt Bessie. Sign up and get a 50p MOC. Aunt Bessie Custard is 50p in Sainsbury's and 53p in Tesco. Don't think Morries sell itThe end is nigh0

We have had both tesco value and sainsburys basics tinned custard and liked them both.:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0

Sainsbury's Basics Tinned Custard (385g) is just over 20p, & surprisingly nice hot or cold.0

I've tried Tesco Value custard instant and Asda Smart rpice custard instant.
Tesco one is now on the permanent shopping list, very tasty and creamy - Asda one I couldn't actually taste anything in. Was thick though.Trying very hard to be frugal and OS - just plodding on and doing my best!

The tinned is nice, but the powdered (less than 10p) is narstynoonoo.
The 24p packets are ok though.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Old style MoneySaving boards.

I use Birds custard powder,
2 heaped desert spoonfuls
1. heaped desertspoonfuls of sugar
mixed with about a 1/4 pint of milk added slowlly and mixed with a fork.
pour into a saucepan add a small tin of eveporated milk made up to 3/4 of a pint with water.
bring to the boil slowly stirring until it thickens up and pour into a pyrex jug.
simples and cheap as chips
never had tinned custard in my life so couldn't comment0 -
I use Tesco value instant custard powder packets all the time. Hubby loves it! And it makes up much better than the Birds equivalent, which I find goes lumpy as I mix it in the jug. Never have that problem with the Tesco one.0
