10w40 Semi Synthetic
Hi guys and girls,
Just wanted to know if anyone knows of anywhere that's selling cheap 10w40 at the moment?
Want to get something ordered over the weekend so I can service my car next week
My car is a Vectra and so far I've found GM Oil at £9.95 and also Carlube @ £10.80 from VauxhallWorldParts.com (Part numbers: 93165216)
Anyone know any where else? I'm tempted to get the GM Oil but save a penny save a pound

Use the GM oil, it's the best..... It really is very good stuff!! I know countless people who use it in non-GM vehicles too.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

It costs move but branded Castrol

My daughter uses GM oil on her Matiz and was told it fine0 -
Castrol Magnatec is rubbish stuff as it causes white cream on the oil filler cap.
No, that could be a sign of a leaking head gasket, not poor oil. White cream on the oil fill cap means there is water in the oil."There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe a 'Princess Coronation' locomotive in full cry. We shall never see their like again". O S Nock0 -
I removed my previous post as it was wrong grade of oil
As for white cream as said is usually head gasket Castrol is good oil
Some people say it short journeys that can do this too although I have never found it to do that.Castrol Magnatec is rubbish stuff as it causes white cream on the oil filler cap.0 -
Being a Saab owner and on the end of a turbo replacement following GM's daft policy of using semi-synth and too long change intervals, I only use GM fully synth 5W-30 and have it, and the filter, changed every 6,000 miles.
Last lot was £17 for 5L.

I used the same stuff in my Vec B 2.6 V6.I am a mortgage broker. You should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it. Short journey's will eventually lead to this if the engine has not had chance to warm up to normal operating temperature. Most new cars warm up much more quickly, whether it's via coolant thermostat control OR with fancy self opening grill vent (gimmicks) as per the new Fiesta/Focus (can't remember which).
But even new cars will suffer if used to driver 100 yrds down the road once a day.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

If you can get the VX oil at £9.95, it's better than trade.
I'd stock up for at long as you intend to keep the car for that price.
(I use it in everything I put oil in)0 -
Surely driving all around the county to save 50p off a cup full of oil is outweighed by al the fuel consumed, even if your own time is being counted as free (which it isn't at all).0
