Windows Mail E-mail messages to be deleted

Here I am again. In Windows Mail I delete unwanted emails but have discovered that they are being permanently saved in my pictures folders. No matter what I do I am unable to delete them and they are taking up quite a bit of space as they go back nearly two years.
How do I delete them permanently, please?
