Orange Broadband Query

I Have orange broadband but for some reason I cant use my old netgear DG834GT router strangely it doesn't sync or find any connection.
But when i use oranges rubbish netgear DGN1000 it picks up the connection and its uses GMT so I dont see the problem.
Maybe if anyones used this rubbish before or has experience please share.

it may be obvious, but have you entered the correct ISP login (username/password) details into the router's setup page ??......Gettin' There, Wherever There is......
I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple
