My daughter is in dispute with an on line company at the mo. The courier for this company told them that her parcel was left behind a recycling box in my front garden, claiming this constitutes a 'secure' place! The on line company accepts this explanation from the couriers and are not prepared to take the matter any further leaving my daughter out of pocket! Any suggestions from your own experience? I think if we were offered the chance to get her money back like you we'd go for it!!!!
  • The reason couriers leave parcels is because anything they don`t deliver that day has to be re-delivered the next day!

Send the company a letter before action giving them a set period to replace or refund(say 7-14 days), if they ignore or refuse submit a claim to the small claims court.
If at first you don't succeed, maybe bomb disposal isn't the best career choice.
  • I had a problem with returns to Next. I had a large parcel of goods which I returned to them by courier. Half the goods then showed up as being returned but the rest didn't. They tried to press me for evidence that they had been returned but I pointed out that the fact that they had the rest ofthe goods was evidence that I had returned the parcel but that I couldn't give evidence about individual items. All the courier provides is a card confirming a parcel has been picked up they obviously don't check each individual item.

I eventually got a refund after having to sign and return a form confirming I had retured the goods. I didn't mind having to sign and return the form but I did resent the letter I got back saying that due to this problem they would be keeping an eye on my account for the next 6 months. They tried to make it sound like a customer service thing to make sure I didn't have any problems but it was clear that they were suggesting that I was lying to them and that they were going to watch out to make sure I didn't do it again.

This is the 2nd time that part of a parcel I returned hasn't arrived (the last time was 2-3 years ago) and TBH I have now lost faith in the system and have stopped ordering goods from Next like I used to. If I choose to do so in future I will return them to store where they process the items individually. It's unfortunate because that's a major hassle and so it means that Next have lost a lot of custom from me.
