I have been given a parking ticket from the local council for parking on the pavement, I have appealed and the response was that.
The “Highway Code” states “ “You MUST NOT park partially or wholly on the pavement in London, and should not do so elsewhere unless signs permit it. Parking on the pavement can obstruct and seriously inconvenience pedestrians, people in wheelchairs or with visual impairments and people with prams or pushchairs”.
I received the ticket in the evening at 19.48 there are no signs about parking or any lines.
Also I live in Redbridge that comes under outer London.
How do I stand with this one
many thanks in advance

Well, the bad news is yes, it's a contravention to park with any wheels on the pavement in London boroughs. No signs needed.
The good news is that there is a forum that can advise you about various angles of appeal:

Often there are mistakes with the PCN or paperwork so register, read the FAQs on there and start a new topic. Show the posters pics of both sides of the PCN and also of the rejection letter. Just cover your car reg and PCN number.
Most people win who take pepipoo advice. Good luck!
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Yes, as Coupon Mad says, it applies to all London Boroughs.
You need to post start a new thread in https://www.pepipoo.com to see if there is anything that is wrong with the PCN, there often is. Not knowing about the restriction is no defence I am afraid unless they have a sign indicating that you can park on the pavement.0 -

there won't be any signs. If there were signs you wouldn't have got the ticket. They put signs up if you can park there, not telling you that you can't.0
