Just upgraded both devices to ios5 and I would like to have all apps on both devices without having to laboriously update both devices. Is there a setting that will synch both pad and phone via the cloud? Spent ages looking yet not found anything.

yes in the settings enable automatic downloads of new content.

then you buy an app on the iphone and it will automatically download and install it on the ipad as well.
you can also turn it on in itunes and have a copy of the app download onto there too.0
