LTSB Staff Overide Computer ?

Hi,
I'm sure this has perhaps been answered before, but after a good trawl through the forum I can't find an answer.
My main account is with Barclays, but after some consideration I would like to change to Lloyds TSB. I hold a standard account with them already but would like the Gold Account. However, on my internet banking I am only given the option to upgrade to Silver.
My question is if I call into my local branch, would the staff be able to overide the computer to allow me to have the Gold Account?
Thanks
Mike

Yes they can easily do that in the branch.

try going through above upgrade link though to see if that allows it.0 -
Thanks, but the link only takes me to my Internet Banking page, and as I stated in my first post, the only option I have is to upgrade from Classic to Silver, hence me asking if the staff can overide!

Just call them.0

Whilst "Just call them" is sound advice, and a course of action I will be taking, I was under the impression that the point of forums such as this was to share experiences and knowledge. Perhaps someone who has been in a similar position could advise me, and maybe save a phone call.

I called them a few years back when I was in same predicament. Due to a marker on my account Silver was the highest account I could have, even though I didn't want the O/D and I wanted to pay them more to have the Gold account.
Suffice to say I no longer bank with them.I spent 25 years in the mobile industry, from 1994 to 2019. Worked for indies as well as the big networks, in their stores also in contact centres. I also hold a degree in telecoms engineering so I like to think I know what I’m talking about 😂0 -

Previous comments have already confirmed the staff can do this, and how!!!!I am employed as a manager in a financial services institution. My views are entirely my own.0 -

simax, have you read my post about getting a Bank of Scotland Silver account, but won't issue cheque book? Well, online banking/telephone banking can't. My credit is pretty good, clean cra reports, 0% credit card, loan. They are a weird banking group:j0 -

Why do you want Lloyds' gold account?0 -
Looking at the cost vs benefits, I feel the Gold Account is the one best suited to my needs

You may find you have a high internal risk score and / or a CPD marker on your account.
I had this with LTSB for two years, all I could get was a Silver account and no higher, and was pre-declined for any form of credit from them due to the presence of a "Credit Policy Decline" marker on my account.
The account was run flawlessly, good turnover / average balance etc never incurred a penny in fees.
Then one day all of a sudden the marker dropped off, I had the option of Gold, Platinum, and Premier online and my Overdraft limit had gone up from £150 to £3,000... overnight.
They are indeed a weird banking group, their credit scoring techniques are... unique.
Oh, and they can't override the CPD marker / risk status in branch or over the phone I'm afraid.Cashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48
