Done my S.O.A but looking at it I never have that amount left ever.

So here's my plan:-
Keep a spending diary every penny needs accounting for
Reduce my food bill down grade brands at the supermarket
Put more clothes on which equals lower gas bill
Turn things off at the plug equals lower electric bills

What I have already done:
Moved from Virgin to sky so half price bills for the next 6 months then back to what I was paying
Cancelled my gym membership
Cancelled my magazine subscription

Need help with my menu planning if anyone has any suggestions

Yesterday wa a day of reflection, it was a year ago I finally got out of a controlling relationship that I had been in for years but not the sort most people reading this think of this was a relationship controlled by my brother he decided every aspect of my life and I even ended up renting the house next door off him. So on to the reflecting I looked around yesterday and realised how much has changed in the last year:
    • Decorated my livingroom the way I like it
    • Bought all new furniture for the full house
    • Got a job
    • Got a car
    • Have a very happy healthy dd
    • Got a new house
    • Paid £3500 off on my debts
    • Was diagnosed with type ii bi polar but now finally on the right meds
    • Went camping on holiday
    • and last but not least had a great happy year without tears

Well that's quite a list really and last might we celebrated with a cheap bottle of buck fizz lol.

So on to this year here's my plans:
    • Decorate upstairs bathroom
    • Decorate DD's room
    • Decorate my room
    • Decorate the kitchen
    • Decorate the hall
    • Pay off the last £2000 I owe my mum
    • Save some money for a rainy day
    • Have a holiday

So that's what I am going to be working on for this year, OK lot of decorating but then my house will look great and it will ll be mine :D

    What I have done today:
Baked a lemon drizzle cake with my rather manky ready to throw lemons and to be fair it tastes yum
    1 load of washing
    Hoovered the full house
    Dusted the livingroom
    Changed the bedding
    Washed up
Crocheted 3 hats for innocent smooties campaign for next year

Think that's about it phew tired and still have my head cold hoping to kill or cure theory might work but I have achieved neither lol

  • Sounds like you really have turned things around this year - well done! And good luck with your next list of plans

In an earlier post you asked for suggestions about menus. Something I find quite fun is looking at what the supermarket has on special offer and seeing what I can make out of it, rather than having fixed ideas about what to buy. That way I get a cheap meal and a surprise all in one :D

Can you get a water meter, it will cut down your cost.

The entry for your TV license is wrong.

Do you get 25% council tax discount,
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.

The TV licence is because I have to pay the first few payments then it will go down
That's the cost with my water meter asked them to look at this though as it seems high for what we use
The council is with my 25% discount

Excellent, you're definitely getting the hang of it
I always look for "end of range" things for the house, provided it's new I don't care if it's last year's fashion :D Buying 'roll ends' of carpet has also saved me a small fortune. I did a bedroom on the cheap that way, and the surplus was enough for the downstairs loo as well.
