Mouse stopped working!

I have been using a Microsoft cordless optical mouse for the last few months since I bought my new pc.

Today it just stopped working. The red light is flashing on the mouse and green light is on the usb thingy. I've been into mouse properties and it tells me its working fine - but it's not. I have now had to connect up the corded wheel mouse which works fine.

Any ideas?

This rings a bell with me !. I'd suggest you do a couple of things. First of all, ensure the batteries in the mouse haven't moved and lost contact, or, replace the batteries. I too had this problem and changing the batteries did it. I noticed when I had my cordless, it is considerably more "alert", so I imagine it can drain batteries. I've just changed mine again, because of a couple of issues, now it's fine.

There could also be a reset button on the mouse or the receiver.

At moment I don't have a new battery to try. Can't see a reset button on the mouse.

Will let you know if it works tomorrow with new battery. Else I will try it on a friends computer.

It's working again. I charged up a new battery and put it in and it's as good as new. :T :T :T

OK, I'm glad it is now OK.
