in Credit cards
Hi All,
First post here! To cut a very long story short a year or so ago I purchased a used car with my credit card. The car was a 'bad one' so ended up taking the dealer to court and won. Usual problem the dealer went bankrupt before the case was closed.
I asked the credit card company (within weeks of the purchase) to chase the dealer but they were not interested and actually cost me more money by telling the car dealer i was using someone else's card!
I am the second user on a credit card so do I have any rights? Lloyds TSB say no and are now also charging me interest.
Any help would be appreciated.

No you are unable to claim under section 75 as the debtor creditor supplier relationship has been broken as you purchased a car for yourself and you are not the debtor.
Im sure someone more knowledgeable will be along soon to offer suitable advice. If you keep on doing what's you've always done, you'll keep on being what you've always been...:think:0 -
As i feared, thanks for the info0

You may have a case if you can prove that the purchase was made for the main cardholder or the main cardholder received some benefit.
For example my OH and I treat our cars as jointly owned. The fact that each of us is the registered keeper of 1 car is an administrative convenience. My OH's name may be on the garage's receipt for "her" car but I picked the car up and it was my debit card that was used to pay for it. They were both paid for out of a joint account into which both of our salaries go.
So legally there would be a case (although certainly not watertight) for saying that both cars are jointly owned and that if a deposit was paid on my credit card, I could claim under s75 as I was party to the purchase.
Banks try to fob s75 claims off all the time, often with no good reason.
It would be worth getting some legal advice about it.We need the earth for food, water, and shelter.
The earth needs us for nothing.
The earth does not belong to us.
We belong to the Earth0
