Just had a phonecall from people claiming to be "The Money Saving Experts"

And I wondered where to report this.

I seem to remember Martin trying to get people stopped from using the MSE phrase, but can't find the article/thread.
Anyway, i've just has a call from Lifestyle Solutions (or something like that, I wasn't really listening until he said the mse bit) 1471 gave me the number 08445044838. Typical cold callers trying to sell insurance and financial stuff, but thought I'd mention it here because he said that "we are the money saving experts" and less savvy peeps might think Martin had something to do with them.

I have never had any business with this company before although the man claimed I had spoke to a colleague called "Sebastian" in April 2010 - I had not. I am registered with the Telephone Preference Service so this was an unsolicited cold call. Ofcom here I come."

Funny that cos the guy I spoke with this evening said I'd spoken to his colleague in April too! I told him that was crap cos I dont speak to cold callers, and certainly wouldn't answer his questions today.

There's nothing wrong or illegal about someone saying "We are the money saving experts". They may be, or believe they are.

If they use such a claim as part of the promotion of their services, they would have to be able to substantiate such a claim.

You don't see banks claiming to be "investment experts" for this very reason.
