Fence post extensions - any good?

We currently have a 2 foot panel fence between us and our neighbour (on a 1-foot concrete gravel base boards, so the fence is 3 foot high). There are 3 foot concrete slot posts between the panels that are in good condition.
We want to increase the height of the fence to a 6 feet (so 5-foot high wooden panels). We have got a few quotes for replacing the whole thing with new 6-foot concrete posts and panels, that are hugely expensive (not to mention might ruin the nice plants/trees on either side when digging out the old posts).
We came across products like this http://www.cocklestorm.com/dipped-post-extensions-1147-0.html that are intended to allow higher panels to be placed into existing short posts. It would end up looking something like this http://www.buryfencing.com/fence%20post%20extensions.htm Does anyone have experience of these, or have an opinion on whether they might be worth a go? Or if they look decent or not?
Thanks in advance

The force of the wind will probably blow the fence over (esp.a panel fence) you want around a third of total fence post in the ground.
Our neighbours tried to turn a 3 foot wire stock fence in to a panel fence, it was carp from day one.0
