    You didn't need to respond...

I have a contract it's £1 per month from talkmobile. Only 25 minutes and 50 texts but much cheaper than PAYG and that was approved whilst on nil income. They have other tariffs with better allowance for a bit more. The £12 a month sim only contract is 750 minutes, lots of texts and some internet. You can get a contract too just try and make sure it is the cheapest on the market for your requirements and you strictly keep to the limits otherwise you will find yourself with a problem.

:p Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S) :p Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money. :p
  • Certainly the last couple of contracts I've taken out I was not asked for work status etc and so it came down to purely what my credit reference file looked like.

You can be earning £400,000 and have a terrible credit history and you can be on JSA and yet a very good history.
  • If someone is out looking for work it is good to have a mobile phone so potential employers can get in touch.

A PAYG basic phone can be purchased for this purpose for £10. No need for an expensive, lengthy contract.

Or pay £400 for the phone and have it on a sim only contract for £8 a month. 300 minutes, 1000 texts and 250MB data. Plus £4 a month for the insurance.

You might find as you are on JSA they will want a deposit.
