sports direct are notoriously hard line when it comes to exchanges, preferring to exchange only where faulty in accordance with the law.

How long ago did you buy it? Technically unless their T&C's say otherwise, you're only entitled to return it to sportsdirect.com. And in doing so, if they have provided you the T&C's, may require you to pay return postage.
Stores and online shops are not necessarily the same "company". May have the same name, may be part of the same "family" but they may also be registered independently for VAT purposes.
Theres about half a dozen tesco's.......all registered individually to save millions in tax.You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0 -

They can do that i'm afraid. I was merely asking about postage because if they didnt say you were responsible for return costs, you could return and reorder it online.
Unless you can return to store for a full refund then re-order online for £22?You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0 -
