    I guess Dad said that son had his permission to take the car. He should have said he hadn't permission and then son would have been done for taking a vehicle without owners consent and Dad would have been in the clear.

    Son is a liabilty. Anything less than a custodial sentence and, IMO, he has got away lightly.

    I think he should be banned, you shouldn't be on the road without insurance, road tax and a safe car. There is no excuse and he is putting lives at risk and risking causing misery.

    They are lucky the car was not seized under s165 of the Road Traffic Act?!?!? As its his second time and of a youngish age excpect another ban and a MASSIVE fine!!
