Hi all
I have a Santander Zero credit card with a monthly direct debit set up.
My question is I want to be able to make extra payments to the card ad hoc, can I do this / am I allowed to do this?
Many thanks

Yes, but be aware that if the extra payments are made after statement date but before the DD is taken it may not alter the DD amount. Is the DD for minimum or full amount ?0

Is your DD for the minimum payment?
Yes you can certainly make extra payments as and when you like - by any of the methods detailed on the statement, most people would tend to do it by setting up santander as a payment from their online banking or just by phoning up to make a telephone payment, you can also make payments at santander branches.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
Hi Molerat
The DD is for the minimum amount (around £31) this does change by a few punds and pence each month. I am happy to leave that as it is I just want to make extra payments to help bring the amount down.
I assume I can logon to my bank and set it up like i do with other payments, I take it the account number is just my cc number? Not sure where to get sort code?According to ABBA apparently it's a rich mans' world . . .:p0 -

Yes set up for min payment. Not sure where to get a/c number and sort code though to pay to?According to ABBA apparently it's a rich mans' world . . .:p0 -
I make the payments to my credit card via the bills payment section of my bank account. You need the credit card sort code and account number then you can pay as much as you like when you like.
The account number could be on the payment slip at the bottom of your statement if not just give them a call.£2 Coins Savings Club 2012 is £4.............................NCFC member No: 00005.........

Its probably on your statement I would think? If not you can find it on their website here - http://www.santander.co.uk/csgs/Satellite?appID=abbey.internet.Abbeycom&c=Page&canal=CABBEYCOM&cid=1237873388045&empr=Abbeycom&leng=en_GB&pagename=Abbeycom%2FPage%2FWC_ACOM_TemplateA2#How%20do%20I%20pay%20off%20my%20credit%20card?You can make a payment in a number of different ways. You can pay online direct from your account by quoting:
Sort Code: 09-00-99
Account Number: 01000007

With Santander the additional payment will alter (or cancel) the DD if received more than five days (working days, I presume) before the payment-due date:If you make an additional payment and this is credited to your account more than 5 days before your payment due date, the amount collected by Direct Debit will be adjusted to take account of this payment.
The original Direct Debit amount will still be taken if an additional payment is credited to your account less than 5 days before the payment due date.0 -
Oh really? How strange it cancels it???According to ABBA apparently it's a rich mans' world . . .:p0
